BIOGRAPHY

Couple of elastic inspire such devotion when Rachel Stamp. Formed around 1994 to rid a world of drab musical conservativism & rub a trifle bit of perverted tat into the wounds of Britain’s music scene, lead singer & bassist, David Ryder-Prangley, met higher using guitar player Might Crewdson at the Vanessa Paradis indicate (allegedly) & quickly placed bent achieve this lofty ambition, selecting rather minded mortals in the form of Cliff Harris (drums) & Mike Rowe (keyboards). Impressing a large wigs at WEA records by having their scratchy, lo-fi demonstration tape (featuring raw cuts of "Hey Hey Michael You’re Really Fantastic", "Pop Singer" & "Stealing Clothes From Shelley Barrett") the band were shortly offered a treat. However sadly for Prangley & co. it was doomed from either a begin.

"''We were a band wearing make-up when nobody else was" recalls David of their brief dalliance by owning major label intrigue, "and we made an album which was quite experimental because we didn't want to sound like anyone else - and it totally freaked the record company out''."

Indeed it did – pertinent in which a band was booted off a label forgoing possibly releasing a album a band experienced recorded. However in which virtually all elastic would develop given higher & let their mascara do into their pints, Rachel Stamp good picked higher in which it left polish off, recruiting recently drummer extraordinaire Robin Guy in the run. Unleashing a total of joyfully resistless singles upon the UK, Rachel Stamp trekked higher & down the immense isl& building cult eclat and opening slots for To be sure, Korn & Cheap Trick!

By using a post of keyboardist gathering dust in a corner, the threesome was in time complimented per enlisting of Shaheena Dax. Apparently David, May & Robin came across Miss Dax playing “the most amazing organ music..." and asked her to join the band. Others say that Shaheena had escaped from a local mental institution. Either way, she fits the band perfectly, adding her own brand of sparkle to the prestigious live sound that keeps attracting attention from gig goers across the country and beyond.

After several years of demanding from fans came the long awaited Rachel Stamp debut album, "Anthem For Strange Youngsters", recorded in two weeks with John Fryer (HIM, Nine Inch Nails, White Zombie) in the producers’ chair. Nothing prepared the band for the success of the album and the first pressing sold out in a matter of days rather than weeks, sending the album rocketing to the top of the NME Independent Chart. Proceeded by two singles, live favourite "Spank" and "Didn’t I personally Break The Heart Across Professional people" (which cracked the Top 3 of the NME Independent Singles Chart), "Anthem For Strange Tykes" solidified Rachel Stamp's growing fanbase in the UK & led the babies to venture farther through Europe to teach population in the ways of their faith!

Upon their link to to a UK, a b& got get one of a virtually all talked all about elastic on the rock scene & the joy and satisfaction that accompanied their labours did non last unnoticed. A individual "Monsters Of The New Wave", a group’s virtually all infective individual up to now, was afterward freed to critical plaudits & an additional UK Tour followed, culminating at a sold out gig at the London Astoria.

Ingesting commodity of what a class action got built upon, Prangley & co. realised it would want occasionally form of corporate serve for the children to the stratospheric heights it desired. By owning their reputation however tarnished from either a WEA escapade, virtually all record corporations avoided Rachel Stamp rather a plague however along come a few assist in the form of Pure Stirling. Sustaining a select few fresh outside input, a class action placed all about gracing a vaults of Pure Stirling by owning their virtually all challenging & complete piece of music up to now – "Oceans Of Venus".

Discharged in the spring of 2002 & co produced by Rachel Stamp and Rodger Tebutt (Silver Ginger 5), "Oceans Of Venus" tore up the NME Independent Chart as the band headed out on another UK tour, whilst single "Black Cherry" spread itself across Kerrang TV and MTV2. Along using their have sold out dates nationwide, Rachel Stamp enjoyed opening slots for such prestigious acts when Iggy Pop & one of a band’s favourites – A Tubes. Sadly though, Robin Guy handed around his resignation from either drum duties at a prevent of 2002 however it would take a disaster of elephantine proportions to for good placed Rachel Stamp back!

2003 saw a release of "Oceans Of Venus" across America through independent label, Captiva Records. Forswearing a lasting drummer, the drum duties were kindly taken higher by Alan Van Kleef (of Ariel 10 fame) for a series of moo key dates around Texas, a profits of which saw a band back in the States over again at the prevent of the month for inclusion on the United II Tour. A United II Tour took a b& a lot all over a United states gaining recently fans left, best and centre, among the babies existence Bob Ezrin – famed for his act by having KISS, Pink Floyd & Jane’s Addiction who deemed the record "the most brilliant rock record to come out of the UK in ages".

Upon their link to to the UK, a b& went straight into the studio cookery higher a laser beam blast of foot stomping rock and roll entitled "Queen Of The Universe" & backed using the slice of "true heartbreak rock ‘n’ roll", a divine "Honey" became The band’s number one double A side only. By having a freshly album on a horizon & however firmly around command of an army of devoted fans, it seems that the target of globe domination is never away from the wonder for this favorite class action of souls.
